8 April 2013 - Gosport honours British soldier killed in Afghanistan

Residents, VIPs and members of the family gathered together on Saturday 6 April for a road naming ceremony in Alver Village, Rowner to honour a British soldier known as “The Colonel” who died in Afghanistan in October 2010. His widow Sue Blanchard was Guest of Honour as the Rowner Renewal Partnership and the Borough of Gosport honoured her late husband at Blanchard Avenue, Rowner, Gosport, Hampshire. Read on »

18 March 2013 - Rowner Photography Exhibition to be unveiled

On Monday 18 March the Nimrod Community Centre will host a special launch of the Rowner Photography Project Exhibition. VIPs from First Wessex, Hampshire County Council and Gosport Borough Council will be there for the unveiling. The exhibition will be open to the public on Tuesday 19 March for two weeks for the community to reflect on the images captured to record the regeneration of Rowner. Read on »

13 March 2013 - Every little helps – Tesco starts fitting out the new store in Rowner

Jobs for people in Rowner are being advertised. The Rowner Renewal Partnership celebrated as its contractor opco handed over the Tesco store (shell) to the retailer to prepare it for its grand opening in early summer. Read on »

7 November 2012 - Rowner Scoops Another Award… The Sunday Times British Homes Build Quality

The Rowner Renewal Partnership is celebrating Taylor Wimpey’s win in The Sunday Times British Homes Build Quality Award for “Alver Village” in Gosport, Hampshire. 14 June 2012 - Energy Efficiency Standards Lessons from Rowner

The Rowner Renewal Partnership* and the Zero Carbon Hub (ZCH) today received an official visit from MP Andrew Stunell OBE, the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department for Communities and Local Government. 8 May 2012 - Rowner consults on Phase 3

Community consultation on Phase 3 will take place on Friday 11 May at 3.30 - 7 pm and again on Saturday 12 May at 10 am - 2 pm at the Nimrod Community Centre in Nimrod Drive. All local residents and community stakeholders are invited to view the plans at the drop-in events. Members of the Rowner Renewal Partnership and the design team will be there to answer any questions people may have and to listen to views of the residents of Rowner and Gosport. Everyone is welcome. 20 April 2012 - Brightening up Rowner

A group of residents have helped to paint a mural to brighten up at the end wall of Hilary Court in Rowner. First Wessex, part of the Rowner Renewal Partnership funded the project and the mural was designed by local artist Oliver Merkin, following consultation with Rowner residents. Hilary Court is in one of Rowner’s later regeneration phases and will remain there for two more years. Read on »

29 June 2010 - New Name for Rowner Homes as Public Consultation Begins on Phase 2

The Rowner Renewal Partnership has unveiled its new marketing brand for selling the new homes in the Rowner regeneration area. Alver Village is the name chosen and this suggestion was put forward by local resident Mr M Dye. Mr Dye will shortly receive £250 high street vouchers as his prize. Read on »

6 October 2009 – Phase One Detailed Planning is Granted

Good news in the recession, the Rowner Renewal Partnership is delighted to announce the approval of the Phase One Detailed Planning Application of the £145 million regeneration project for the centre of Rowner. This means work can soon begin on the first 219 new houses and flats. This has been a long awaited project set to transform Rowner for the benefit of many generations to come. Read on »

27 July 2009 – Rowner Renewal Phase 1 Plans submitted

5 June 2009 - Update on Rowner Renewal

Rowner residents, community groups and stakeholders have keenly participated in the detailed public consultation on the Rowner Renewal Project for over 18 months to help devise a MasterPlan for the estate. The £145 million eight year regeneration project will replace the existing properties with homes built to the Homes and Communities Agency’s (HCA) standards of high quality and sustainable housing. 13 September 2008 - Fun Day to Celebrate Rowner’s Nimrod Community Centre Extension

The opening of the Nimrod Community Centre Extension was celebrated in style on Saturday – it was alive with salsa dancers, children’s activities, arts and crafts, story tellers, fashion shows and dance academies. VIPs from Gosport Development Trust, Portsmouth Housing Association (PHA), Gosport Borough Council and the Mayor of Gosport, Cllr Derek Kimber, all participated in the fun with the many local residents. 15 February 2008 - Rowner’s Consultation Events

The Rowner Renewal Partnership is hoping to build more houses at the south end of the development following feedback from residents on the proposed plans. They now invite everyone to come along to a Community Forum to see the updated Rowner Vision on Thursday 21 February at Siskin Junior School starting at 6pm.
